The 9th edition of the competition for the best international student - INTERSTUDENT has started. Candidates may be nominated by professors, university authorities, student self-government, as well as fellow students. The International Cooperation Department is waiting for nominations until December 11th.

The competition is organized as part of the "Study in Poland" programme. Its aim is to honour foreign students who develop cooperation between cultures and enrich our Polish academic environment. Around 400 international students are currently studying at both campuses of the Nicolaus Copernicus University. Candidates taking undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programmes may be nominated by their professors, supervisors, university authorities, student self-government, as well as fellow students. Active participation in the local student environment - cultural, social, ecological, sports and good results in science or involvement in interesting research projects, all these matter in the competition.

To enter a candidate in the competition, complete the survey and send it to the NCU International Cooperation Department (Agata Wiśniewska, International Cooperation Department, Gagarina 11, 87-100 Toruń) or send a scan by e-mail to studywithncu@umk.pl. The deadline for accepting applications is December 11th.

The INTERSTUDENT competition is organized under the Honorary Patronage of Prof. dr. habil inż. Jan Szmidt, President of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland. The Partners of the Competition are: Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland, Students' Parliament of the Republic of Poland and National Representation of Doctoral Students.

The final gala of the INTERSTUDENT competition will take place in the Crystal Hall of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences during the conference "International students in Poland" on January 17th, 2019 in Warsaw.
