Recruitment for the European Solidarity Corps volunteer program organized at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń has just begun. Bridging Generations is a two-week programme for young people from whole Europe who can come to Poland to meet and exchange experiences with seniors.

The volunteer programme will take place at the Copernican Centre for Integration in July 2025. Young people aged between 18 and 25 will be able to participate in activities and initiatives involving seniors, exchanging experiences and learning from each other. During this time, various engaging activities that foster intergenerational and intercultural exchange will happen. Over two weeks, volunteers and seniors will, among other things, take care of a community garden, harvest crops together, and use them to prepare not only local dishes. The programme also aims to help older people develop digital skills, including the use of modern technologies and social media. The project's additional and equally important goal is to build lasting relationships between participants.

Implementing the volunteer program in Toruń was possible thanks to the certificate awarded to NCU by the Polish Agency of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC). At the end of last year, the university received the Quality Label as a leading, hosting, and supporting organization in international volunteer projects. Launching a programme enabling young people to volunteer was a natural next step.

Detailed information about the program is available on the ESC website.
