Debate on Brexit

On March 5th, the debate Divided Europe. Shaping Brexit and a common future was held at the Academic Centre for Culture and Art "Od Nowa”. The Debate was organized by the NCU Faculty of Political Science and International Studies.

The theme of the debate focused upon the process of the exiti of Great Britain from the European structures and its impact on the future of the European Union. The meeting was co- organized by: the editors of "Gazeta Wyborcza" and the Toruń branch of the Polish Political Science Association. Among the invited guests were:

  • Emma Baines - Head of Policy at the British Embassy in Warsaw;
  • dr Przemysław Biskup – main analyst within the framework of the "European Union at the Polish Institute of International Affairs” programme;
  • Dariusz Rosiak – journalist of Polish Radio, a former correspondent in London and an editor in the Polish section of the BBC;
  • dr Agnieszak Bryc - assistant professor at theNCU Faculty of Political Sciences and International Studies.

The meeting was hosted by Maciej Czarnecki, NCU alumnus and the editor of the foreign department of "Gazeta Wyborcza".

The debate run in English was organized as part of the project on migration in Europe and to Europe carried out by Gazeta Wyborcza together with the Czech "Respekt", the Slovak "Dennik N" and Hungarian "Nepheswa". The funds came from the Visegrad Fund.

Admission was free.
